Na een PMP-opleiding te hebben genoten bij EHSAL/HUB in 2002-2003 en na een jarenlange uitoefening van de functie van projectmanager achtte ik de tijd rijp tot het overgaan tot certificatie bij het PMI.
Zonder twijfel heb ik me ingeschreven bij EHSAL Management School (HUB) om de 3-daagse PMP Preparation Course: Exam Preparation te volgen.

After a few years of project management, I wanted to improve my skills and knowledge and decided to go for PMP certification.
While PMP eventually fulfilled my initial goals, learning from the official PMBOK was pretty difficult. I knew Didier from a friend of mine who passed the PMP certification some time ago, so I registered for the course.
The course provided by Didier was split in 2 main parts:
1. learning
2. practicing
The learning part was very interesting, thanks to the broad knowledge demonstrated by Didier (who clearly "breathes" project management), his motivation skills and ‑ in my opinion ‑ the right pace for such a training. More than a PMP exam preparation, it was also meant to be useful in my project management activities, which I appreciated.
The practicing part is definitely a must for the exam preparation.
Overall, I went to the exam session pretty confident, and I eventually succeeded.

Na meerdere jaren kleine en grotere projecten geleid te hebben volgens de “gezond boerenverstand methode”, ontstond de dwingende noodzaak om een beter gestructureerde aanpak te hebben. Het pad naar de PMI certificatie leek de logische weg te zijn naar een professioneel project management.
De training bleek een enorme hoeveelheid praktische kennis te bevatten, die op een erg gestructureerde manier wordt samengebracht in een uitgebreide toolbox waarmee elke project manager op een professionele manier zijn ding kan doen.
Een grote hoeveelheid kennis en kunde, veel –noodzakelijke- details en een gedegen tempo maken dat deze training op een hoog niveau staat. Om dit in goede banen te leiden heb je een toptrainer nodig. Didier Brax is zo een toptrainer. De training wordt door hem gebracht met een uitzonderlijk gevoel voor de praktijk, een rijke schat aan voorbeelden, alle nodige aandachtspunten, een niet aflatende –vriendelijke- druk om de studie te stimuleren, en dat alles met de glimlach. Meer nog: met veel humor.
De organisatie vanwege EMS laat niets te wensen over.
Dit is misschien niet het enige pad naar het examen, ongetwijfeld wel één van de beste.

Next to being part of the management team of our company, I’m also responsible for key-projects.
When leading these projects I based on my experience. However due to following the “PMP preparation course at the EHSAL Management School” I came in contact with the PMBOK methodology. This generally recognized and good practice subset was a great help in enlarging my view.

Na enkele jaren geleden het postuniversitair programma Projectmanagement gevolgd te hebben, was de volgende logische stap vlug gekend, nl. het PMP-certificaat behalen.
Tijdens de Exam Preparation Course kwamen uiteraard allerlei facetten i.v.m. Projectmanagement aan bod, maar vooral de finesses en subtiliteiten i.v.m. de vraagstelling op het examen waren heel leerrijk en nuttig. De benodigde kennis is uitgebreider dan enkel PMBOK, maar de beschikbare syllabus en literatuurlijst behandelt dit voldoende. Het enthousiasme en grondigheid van de lesgever (Didier Brackx) is daarbij zeker een niet te onderschatten voordeel, temeer daar hij altijd bereikbaar is voor allerlei vragen i.v.m. de leerstof of de praktische zaken ivm het examen zelf. Uiteraard komt er nog veel zelfstudie bij kijken, maar dat loont zeker de moeite.
De voldoening en erkenning bij het behalen van het certificaat is niet te onderschatten en laat een duidelijke profilering toe op Projectmanagement gebied, wat extra carrièrekansen creëert.
Het EMS traject om het PMP- certificaat te behalen is een zekere en betrouwbare weg die ik met genoegen kan aanbevelen.

Just like a lot of people in the business world, I am responsible for managing projects. Till a year ago, I thought that business experience was more than enough to be a good project manager. However, I was wrong. Following the PMP preparation courses at the EHSAL Management School did me realize that project management is more than delivering a project on time.
A well structured and in depth course taught me the details about the PMBOK methodology. I learned how to apply processes, process groups and knowledge areas in my daily work.

Wie zeker wil zijn van zowel een geslaagd examen als van een praktisch bruikbare kennis van de PMBok-methodologie moet m.i. aan EHSAL Management School zijn.
De praktische studietips die tijdens de opleidingen meegegeven worden, hebben in mijn geval hun nut meer dan bewezen. Vooral het real-life simulation exam is een zeer goede afspiegeling van het werkelijke examen. Je wordt goed getraind in het begrijpen en herkennen van de PMBok-subtiliteiten. En dat is echt wel nodig om te slagen voor het pittige examen.
De syllabus blijkt samen met de aanbevolen lectuur heel goed de bevraagde stof te omvatten en vormt bovendien een uitstekend naslagrepertoire voor nadien. Bovendien wordt de opleiding met zoveel bezieling gegeven, dat je niet anders kunt dan (nog meer) gepassioneerd te raken door de wonderen die een goed projectmanagement kan verrichten.
Mocht ik het overdoen, ik zou zonder twijfel dezelfde weg kiezen.

The PMP Exam Preparation Course offered by EHSAL was instrumental in my passing the PMP Exam. It was short enough to not take up all my free time, and long enough to make it valuable. Didier Brackx takes the students through a progressive series of exercises which help the student understand PMI theories/practices, and how they relate to the exam. The course also consists of a practice exam, review, and instructional materials which are extremely helpful in preparing for the PMP exam.

Obtaining a PMP credential as a project manager is more then just something you put on your curriculum. It means that you have the experience, you have a deep knowledge of the project management processes and techniques, and you have studied a lot for that terrifying exam!
It seems impossible to me to pass that exam without a proper course. The PMP preparation courses at EHSAL Management School were of a high standard and quality: All essential tools and techniques were explained, the logic of the whole PMBOK revealed. Didier Brackx did a great job here.
After the course, the work isn’t finished… it’s just begun! I’ve studied about 2 hours a day for 1,5 month. I can assure that Didier was right when he told us several times: “The trick is to repeat and repeat and repeat…”.
A couple of times I asked Didier for advice or guidance while preparing my credential application or during my study time. I really appreciated his quick response and help. His help didn’t end when the courses were finished!
Finally I took my exam. It was indeed very challenging. Thanks to these EHSAL courses and (of course) my own dedicated study time, I can now proudly call myself…

Na ruim 10 jaar werkervaring in de project business en enkele jaren lidmaatschap van het PMI, werd het hoog tijd om het PMP-certificaat te behalen. Des te meer omdat de markt hoe langer hoe meer vraagt naar dit project management kwaliteitslabel.
De voorbereidende cursussen die mijn collega’s hiertoe volgden bleken echter allen de leerstof voor het PMP-examen onvoldoende te omvatten. Elkeen van hen was op het PMP-examen geconfronteerd geweest met vragen over onderwerpen die tijdens hun voorbereidende cursus(sen) niet aan bod waren gekomen. En één vraag juist of fout beantwoorden op het “die hard” PMP-examen kan werkelijk het verschil maken, geloof me.
Ik was dus op zoek naar een examenvoorbereiding zonder deze hiaten … mijn zoektocht eindigde bij EHSAL Management School.
Dit was een treffer. De ervaren en gepassioneerde lesgever, ir. Didier Brackx, weet op een heldere, gevatte en interactieve manier de PMP-examenleerstof over te brengen. De materie is zeer uitgebreid en kwalitatief uitstekend. Dat deze cursussen meer behelsen dan louter de PMBOK moge duidelijk zijn. Gelukkig maar want louter inhoudelijke kennis van de PMBOK is echt onvoldoende om jouw PMP-slaagkansen te optimaliseren.
Met theorie, voorbeelden en met oefeningen gelijkaardig aan de examenvragen en een proefexamen stoomt hij je klaar voor het ultieme moment.
Deze cursussen hebben ontegensprekelijk bijgedragen tot het succesvol afsluiten van mijn PMP-examen. Voor diegenen die zich wensen te certifiëren als PMP en hiertoe optimaal voorbereid willen zijn, kan ik deze cursussen alleen maar aanraden!

Working as an independent Project Manager for years and looking at the trend in project management, the need was high to work according to a structured project methodology that was very much appreciated by the industry. Obtaining a PMP-certification has, looking at the current business trend, a very big added value for professional project managers.

When I started the first PMP course "Basic course PMP preparation" I said to myself "this is going to be impossible to learn, there is so much content there....", but little by little with the support and motivation given by the instructor, Didier Brackx, it started to seem possible. The second course "PMP exam preparation" was a real challenge with a lot of questions and a lot of knowledge mixing up in my mind. Then a trial exam, that I have to say it was exactly at the same level of the real one, was a definitive step to be confident that we could do it. Finally the D day (arrived after 6 months of hard work) and the results were known: PASSED!!!!
